Over 25 Years Of Hands-On Experience In The East Bay Area
Scott is the co-founder of Eco Performance Builders, the leading home performance contractor in the area, and gained a great deal of knowledge about what builders and contractors get wrong in home energy systems. The years of experience conducting energy audits and home energy retrofits along with his building experience make him uniquely qualified to make great houses.
Scott O’Hara and his team have been building houses in the East Bay Area for more than 25 years, with the last 15 years focused on high performance & energy efficient homes. Scott’s special experience in building spec homes (where every dollar invested has to count) enables him to guide clients to the things that matter most so you get more value for your money.
Specialists In Healthy, High- Performance Net Zero Homes
Scott has always had an interest in healthy building (especially internal air quality), but this became an obsession when he built his own family home to help his daughter who suffered from severe allergies. After they moved in, her Paediatrician said, “I don’t know exactly what you did, but it sure worked.” And Scott’s daughter has been almost completely allergy-free since.
With rising energy prices, Scott also took a special interest in building net-zero homes where your home produces more energy than it uses, eliminating power bills forever. Scott has developed a proven process in net-zero design, product selection, and installation that gives measurable energy outcomes (KPIs) so you can be sure your home is genuinely energy-efficient.
BPI and Built It Green Certified, Highly Awarded & Fully Licensed
Scott undertook intensive training in sustainable building and received coveted certifications in BPI (Building Performance Institute) and Build It Green. He was also awarded PG&E and Build It Green Home Performance Contractor of the Year.
Naturally, Scott is a fully licensed contractor with classifications in A (General Engineering), B (General Construction).
He now applies his skills and experience to give East Bay residents healthier, more comfortable, high-performance homes that look better, last longer, and have zero ongoing energy costs.
Your forever home – created by our family, for your family
A Down To Earth Family Man
Scott, his wife and two children love living in the East Bay area in a 1950’s ranch-style house he converted to net-zero. They regularly take time to enjoy the area, hiking the hills of Contra Costa County and beyond.
